Our Calling and Faithfulness in Carrying Out Early Childhood Education
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)
“The formation of Christian character marked by faith, knowledge, and a sense of responsibility as the next generation of the nation.”
- Vision of Sekolah Kristen Calvin
The vision established from the very beginning by Rev. Stephen Tong is not merely a slogan, but a firm commitment of the school—a response to the urgent need to shepherd young warriors of Christ who are ready to carry on the legacy of the previous generation: a generation that loves and fears the Lord, and one that is courageous in facing challenges and ready to strive for the Kingdom of God.
There is an African proverb that says, “It takes a village to raise a child.” This proverb highlights the need for a community to provide children with positive experiences, meaningful interactions, and a safe environment where they can grow in a healthy way. A strong relationship between the family and the school is a key factor in a child’s development and well-being. Teachers have the opportunity to strengthen the bond between parents and children, nurture the child’s spiritual and faith development, and support parents in their role of preparing their children to engage with the wider community—society at large.
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
