On April 14–16, 2025, the 7th-grade students of Sekolah Kristen Calvin embarked on an educational field trip to the city of Bandung. This trip was designed as a contextual learning experience that gave students the opportunity to learn directly in the field, broaden their horizons, and strengthen bonds of friendship and togetherness.
Over the course of three days, students explored various themes organized into three main categories: nature & conservation, industry, and arts & culture.
🗓 Day One:
The adventure began with an exploration of natural beauty and conservation efforts at Kawah Putih and the Ranca Upas Deer Sanctuary. Afterwards, students delved into the world of industry by visiting PT ABC Kogen Dairy, an eco-friendly milk processing facility.
🗓 Day Two:
Students immersed themselves in the richness of Indonesian culture through visits to Saung Angklung Udjo, Komunitas Hong, and experienced traditional games. The day concluded with a walk through Ir. H. Djuanda Forest Park, a site dedicated to urban forest preservation and history.
🗓 Day Three:
The final day was filled with inspiration at IP Farm, a mushroom cultivation and farming center, followed by admiration of monumental artwork and installations at the NuArt Sculpture Park, created by renowned artist Nyoman Nuarta.
Through this field trip, students not only gained valuable experiences, but were also further equipped and sharpened in discerning their life’s calling. May the insights and values sown throughout this journey become lasting provisions as they grow into blessings for others and the nation.
